The US Drug Enforcement Administration or DEA does not currently include the analgesic Tramadol as a scheduled drug. The reason is that it is different from most opioid analgesic that can cause severe addiction problems. However, certain states do schedule the medication so it is best to talk to your doctor before taking Tramadol.
